Hi, my name is Jeanette Lunde and I´m so happy to be guest blogging here at “ohhhmhhh”. I´m a graphic designer, working with styling, photography and design + writing my blog www.byfryd.com. Steffi wanted me to show you one of my latest DIY´s that metallic includes copper tape.
I bought the copper tape from a wholesale store for electricians and the tape is not paper or plastic, but metal.
So here we go.
YOU NEED
– copper tape
– mirror without a frame
– scissors
Start with the mirror, maybe you have an old one where yo can remove the frame or do as me; buy one from the glazier.
The one I´m showing here is 120 x 180 cm, in other words huge. I also asked the glazier to cut round corners.
Turn your mirror downside up and measure with a liner and pencil how far in the tape shall be. That way you will have a straight frame on the frontside.
Now you can start to add the copper tape. It´s quit stiff so take small pieces at a time, ex. 30 cm.
If you chose round corners, leave them until the end.
Make sure the tape overlaps the tape already added on and cut round corners, like the mirror.
Wish you the best of luck with your DIY!
smiles + love

cool, danke Rike!
Toll! Danke.
That is awesome, Jeanette. Such a mirror would perfectly fit into my copper-confetti-bathroom (http://kleine-schwester.blogspot.de/2013/06/copper-confetti-scenery.html#more)
Thanks for sharing this great idea. I just added your blog to my favorites 😉
